Organic digestate from Apsley Farms
We produce nutrient-rich digestate as a by-product of the anaerobic digestion process at Apsley Farms biogas farm. As well as supplying bulk quntities for your exact requirements with a price that suits you, we can also deliver and offer a spreading service.
Our digestate is a by-product of entirely plant based anaerobic digestion and offers numerous benefits to crops. Its high nutrient content, particularly in Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K), makes it an incredibly efficient and cost effective alternative to synthetic fertilisers. Our digestate has an average Kg NPK/t values of N 6.4, P 2.01 and K 7.98.
Apsley Farms digestate can replace expensive spray/fertiliser programmes and can be used in organic farming systems. Call us now on 01264 353172 for more information.

About Apsley Farms
Apsley Farms are a family-run arable farm and contractor producing crops and generating renewable energy to heat 8,500 houses all year round. Crops are fed into our biodigesters where anaerobic bacteria turns them into sustainable biogas and a semi-solid digestate. It’s the same type of natural fermentation process that takes place inside cows, except we capture and use all of the products.
Sustainability and efficiency is at the heart of everything we do at Apsley Farms. We’ve adopted cutting edge technologies and turned low value crops into renewable energy. We focus on a circular economy by returning the nutrients in our digestate products back to the land as a fertiliser.
Our process of generating green gas and other important by-products ticks three important boxes: it displaces natural gas (fossil fuel) in the gas grid to heat people’s homes; it displaces CO2 made by the fertiliser industry, which is essential in the food industry; and it simultaneously generates natural fertiliser in the process!
